Inner Space of the Soul
2019 – 2020 / Oil on linen / 180 x 180 x 4,5 cm (aluminium stretchers)
‘This painting is inspired by being in a state of introspection and contemplation and seeing daily life passing by. The lonely / silent place you can find yourself in sometimes while daily life is just rushing by. The spectator is standing in the space of silence and contemplation. Sometimes you can get a bit lost in your inner journey and then that spark of light from daily life is pulling you out. The silent place in the painting is inspired by the garden in front of the Grace Church in New York City, 80 Broadway, betw. 10th and 11th Street.’
